Before You Go House Hunting Get Pre-Approved

Why would you think that you can shop for a home without a pre-approval?

These days as we move through the phases of re-opening here in NY there is a serious shortage of homes on the market.  If you are looking to purchase a home you need to be aware there are bidding wars on a daily basis.  Some homes have as many as 42 offers proposed to the seller.  Many of the accepted offers are coming down to the terms of the offers. ANYONE without a pre-approval will not even be considered.  There is no time for you to get one when you are bidding against 40 people for the same house.  Most sellers these days have taken the stance not to allow anyone into their homes without a pre-approval because this shows them that you can afford to purchase their house.  In our recovery market from COVID-19 why would they expose their household to someone who isn't prepared to move forward immediately?
